App manual

A complete guide to every feature of the app, organized by topic. If you are looking for something specific, use the search box above.

Getting started

Getting started with the app

When you create your account, verify your email and complete your profile in Settings → My account (name, country, account type). From Control you have quick access to Enaire Maps, Regulations, Communication to the Ministry, Checklists and the Assistant. To appear in "Find Pilots" and use some social features you need to pass identity verification (a photo with your drone and your pilot licence), which an administrator reviews in under 24 hours.

Your equipment

Adding your drones and equipment

In Control → My Equipment you can register each drone (model, weight, colour) and your accessories (FPV goggles, batteries, controllers). Weight and colour are required because they're later used to automatically fill in the communication to the Ministry and the operation sheets. You can mark a pair of FPV goggles as "my goggles" so they get selected automatically when connecting.

Flights and checklists

Logging a flight and its checklist

From Flights tap "+" to create a new flight: choose location, drone, time and objective. Before taking off, use the Checklists (Control → Checklists) to go through pre-flight, in-flight and post-landing steps. If your drone saves logs (DJI .txt files), you can upload them in Control → Flight logs to decode them and convert them to CSV, or create a flight directly from a real log.

Spots

Spots: finding and rating flying locations

Spots are flying locations recommended by other pilots (parks, beaches, viewpoints...). You can see them on the flight map, filter them by type ("ideal for" cinematic, photography, long-range...), save them as favourites and rate them with stars after flying there. If you think a Spot is missing information or has something wrong, you can report it from its detail page.

How to create a Spot

Go to Spots from Settings or from the flight map and tap "Create Spot". Enter the name, the location and, if you want, photos or a video of the place. Your Spot goes through review before being published to keep the listing's quality; you'll get a notification as soon as it's approved.

Communication to the Ministry of the Interior

Communication to the Ministry of the Interior

In Control → Communication to the MI, fill in your pilot/operator details once (they're saved for future communications) and draw or mark the flight zone on the map. The app automatically checks which ENAIRE restrictions affect that zone. You can reuse a previous communication if you fly in the same place, and view the full submission history with its status.

Meetups and shared flight

Meetups: organizing group flights

Create a Meetup from the flight map by entering place, date and time; other nearby pilots can join and chat in the group. As organizer you can manage who takes part and close the meetup when it's over. Remember to follow the community rules when chatting: messages can be reported if they break the rules.

How to share a flight live

From the flight map, tap "Shared flight" to create a session or join one with a code. Other pilots will see your position in real time and your battery status, and will be able to chat with you for the duration of the flight.

Race Mode

Inside a Shared flight, the organizer can activate Race Mode to time heats and keep a ranking among the connected pilots. The organizer can move a pilot to spectator, reorder heats or remove someone from the race; any pilot can switch to spectator voluntarily at any time.

Documents

Documents and expiry reminders

In Documents you can save your pilot licence, insurance and other certificates by category, link them to one or more drones and set their expiry date. The app notifies you before they expire so you can renew them in time; if they don't expire, mark them as "no expiry" when uploading them.

Settings, account and privacy

Settings: language, notifications and privacy

In Settings you can change the app language, customize which push notifications you receive, manage your active sessions on other devices and control your visibility in "Find Pilots" (visible phone, drones and social media, home city). From there you can also access the Community rules and this Manual.

Move your data from an old phone to a new one

Almost everything (flights, drones, cloud documents, spots…) is in your account and appears automatically when you sign in on the new phone. What is NOT in the cloud for privacy reasons is stored encrypted only on your phone: documents stored only on the device, ID, operator registration number and address for the Ministry of the Interior notice, flight logs, offline spot drafts and live streaming destinations. To move them:

1. Connect both phones to the SAME Wi‑Fi (or connect the new one to the old one's hotspot). No internet is needed for the copy: the data goes straight from one phone to the other, encrypted, without any server.

2. Sign in with the same account on the new phone and leave the app open.

3. On the old phone go to Settings > My account and, at the very bottom, tap “Transfer local data to another device”.

4. Read the risks, confirm you understand them and enter your password again.

5. Choose what to move: everything by default; you can untick whole folders or single items.

6. Pick your new phone from the list (only phones with your account and the app open appear).

7. On the new phone tap “Accept”. A 6-digit code appears: type it on the old phone.

8. Wait until it reaches 100% with both screens on. You can cancel at any time.

9. When it's done, the old phone asks whether to sign out and delete its encrypted local data. If you're going to stop using it, say yes.

Your username and password are never transferred. If your phone doesn't appear or can't connect, check that both are still on the same Wi‑Fi and, on iPhone, that VistaDeDrone has “Local Network” permission (Settings > Privacy > Local Network).

Siri commands (iOS)

Siri commands (iOS)

On iPhone/iPad, try saying:

• "Hey Siri, open VistaDeDron" — opens the app.

• "Add a flight in VistaDeDron" — opens the add-flight form with your current location preloaded; the form itself will ask which drones you're using.

• "Open the restrictions map in VistaDeDron" — opens the map tab.

• "Open the Enaire map in VistaDeDron" — opens the map, forcing the Enaire provider (Spain).

• "Open the DFS map in VistaDeDron" — opens the map, forcing the DFS provider (Germany).

• "Open the flight logs in VistaDeDron" — opens your saved flight logs.

• "Find nearby spots in VistaDeDron" — opens the spots list.

• "Open my documents in VistaDeDron" — opens your documents.

Siri also recognizes these phrases in Spanish, German and French, adapted to each language. If Siri doesn't recognize a command, check that Siri's language in system settings matches the one you're using.

FPV goggles

FPV goggles: see your goggles image on the phone

In Control → camera icon (top right) you first pick the connection method (cable, Wi-Fi, capture card or box) and you can connect right away: no need to pick the model, the app detects the goggles (USB and capture card) or tries the known Wi-Fi addresses by itself. The paths that really exist: DJI Goggles N3/3/2/Integra/FPV V1-V2 via USB-C cable (Android only, no Wi-Fi, no IPs); HDZero Goggles/Goggles 2/BoxPro and Walksnail Avatar Goggles X over their own Wi-Fi via RTSP (Android and iPhone); analog goggles (Skyzone, Fat Shark, Orqa) or any HDMI output via USB capture card UVC (Android only); and any goggles with a video box (Cosmostreamer, HDMI→RTSP encoder) (Android and iPhone). On iPhone, Apple does not let non-DJI apps use the DJI goggles cable or USB capture cards; Wi‑Fi RTSP and boxes work there. Once the image is on screen the "Share" button appears; it is optional: if you do not press it, nothing leaves your phone.

FPV goggles: the "Share" wizard (app link, YouTube, Instagram, others)

With the goggles live, press "Share" (bottom right). The wizard has four steps: 1) Destinations: turn on the "App link" (free, no accounts) and/or choose ONE video platform (YouTube, Instagram or another via RTMP) — the phone can only send one RTMP video at a time; on iPhone and web only the app link is available. 2) Method: "Easy" (your account) or "Long" (stream key), depending on the platform. 3) Details: title/privacy or URL+key; keys are stored encrypted only on your phone. 4) Live: the app shows every step until "LIVE" appears, with the share link, viewer count, mute and "Stop everything". Delay via the app link is about 1 second; on YouTube/Instagram it's 5–30 s (platform side). Sent quality: 1280×720 at 30 fps (Instagram vertical), about 4.5 Mbit/s.

FPV goggles: stream to your YouTube channel (easy and long)

Requirements (once, free): a YouTube channel with live streaming enabled (studio.youtube.com → Create → Go live; the first time it asks to verify the phone and takes 24 h). No minimum subscribers needed. EASY METHOD: in the wizard pick YouTube → Easy → set title and privacy → "Start sharing"; sign in with the channel account and accept the YouTube permission (the app never sees your password); in 10–20 s you'll see "LIVE" and the link to share. The live starts and ends automatically with the video. LONG METHOD: copy the server URL and stream key from YouTube Studio → Go live → Stream tab, and paste them in the wizard (YouTube → Long); they're stored encrypted on your phone. If "this app is not verified" appears, press Advanced → Go to VistaDeDrone.

FPV goggles: stream to Instagram Live (easy and long)

Instagram has NO API or login to stream from other apps: the only official way is the "Live Producer" key from instagram.com. Any app asking for your Instagram username and password to "stream" is not legitimate; VistaDeDrone will never ask for them. Requirements: professional account (free, via Instagram Settings) and access to Live Producer (not available on some accounts/countries yet). The key expires every session. EASY METHOD (from the phone): wizard → Instagram → Easy → open instagram.com, create the live, copy URL and key, paste them in the app → "Start sharing"; then go back to the browser and press "Go live". LONG METHOD (from a computer): create the live on instagram.com → Create → Live video, copy URL and key into the wizard (Instagram → Long); on the computer press "Go live". In both cases your followers see nothing until you press "Go live" on the Instagram website. Instagram Live is vertical 9:16; your 16:9 image is sent centred with black bars.

FPV goggles: app link, Twitch, Kick, Facebook and other platforms

APP LINK (free, no accounts): in the wizard turn on "App link" → "Start sharing"; press "Send link" and share it on WhatsApp, Telegram or the meetup chat. Anyone opening it with the app (or in the browser with their account) sees your goggles full screen with ~1 s delay. Works with any source on Android, iPhone and web. OTHER PLATFORMS (RTMP): in the wizard pick "Other platform" and search the list. Where the key is: Twitch → Creator dashboard → Settings → Stream → Primary stream key. Kick → Creator dashboard → Settings → Stream key. Facebook Live → facebook.com/live/producer → Use stream key. TikTok LIVE → requires LIVE Studio access (tiktok.com/live). X (Twitter) → Media Studio → Producer. Trovo, DLive, Restream, Rumble, Vimeo, LinkedIn, Dailymotion, Castr → URL and key in their dashboard. Own server → any RTMP ingest. To stream to several platforms at once use Restream under "Other platform": the phone only sends one RTMP video.

FPV goggles: common problems when sharing

"Your YouTube channel does not have live streaming enabled": verify the phone in YouTube Studio → Go live and wait 24 h. "Could not sign in with Google": check the chosen account is the channel account; if "this app is not verified" appears, press Advanced → Go to VistaDeDrone. Stuck on "Connecting…": URL or key copied wrong, Instagram key expired, or a network blocking ports 1935/443. Nothing shows on Instagram: you still need to press "Go live" on the website after the preview. Choppy on YouTube: that's your phone's upload with weak 4G/5G; move to better coverage or use Wi‑Fi. Mic not heard: check the microphone switch and the permission in Android Settings. App link does not connect: both phones need to be signed in; try Wi‑Fi or a hotspot. Cannot stream directly to YouTube/Instagram on iPhone/web: RTMP streaming from the app is Android only; the app link still works there.
